Recap 2025 with highlights from the new catalogue

This was a landmark year for KATOA.

A year in which light not only illuminated projects, but also revealed ideas, opened possibilities, and shaped new creative paths. It was in this spirit that the new KATOA 2026/27 catalogue was born: an edition designed for professionals seeking contemporary, efficient, and customizable solutions.

More than a catalogue, it reflects our evolution. New materials, greater customization options, and a renewed portfolio of luminaires that stand out for their form, function, and the positive impact they create in spaces.

New products, new possibilities

The new catalogue presents a wide selection of luminaires for indoor and outdoor use, for industrial spaces and leisure environments, all designed to seamlessly integrate design and performance.

Among the key highlights, three new launches are already capturing the attention of the most demanding eyes.

FUNI: a welcoming form

More than a luminaire, FUNI is a welcoming gesture. Suspended and cone-shaped, it projects a soft light that enhances reception areas, restaurants, and waiting spaces, elevating comfort and sophistication.

Its direct and indirect lighting subtly envelops the environment, while the lacquered aluminum finish ensures durability, quality, and a timeless aesthetic.

MIRO: light that adapts to you

Discreet and versatile, MIRO blends harmoniously into any space, proving that functionality can be as elegant as it is effective. This recessed luminaire, with an adjustable trim and orientation, is ideal for highlighting details, creating atmospheric lighting, or precisely complementing general illumination.

The lacquered aluminum finish guarantees strength and longevity, without compromising on minimalist design, making it the right choice for residential and commercial projects where every detail matters.

PYKE: tubular, modern, and magnetic

If you are looking for a piece that combines contemporary design with a light and elegant aesthetic, you’ve found the right choice. With a 50 mm diameter and opal diffuser, PYKE was designed to stand out in meeting rooms, creative offices, and collaborative spaces — but it doesn’t stop there. Here, creativity has no limits.

These new pieces did not emerge by chance. They are the result of a process of research, design, and national manufacturing, with in-house production in Grijó, in northern Portugal. Each luminaire is carefully designed: from aesthetics to performance, from installation to durability.

New materials, new textures

In 2025, KATOA went beyond form and light. We invested in materials and what they represent — comfort, sustainability, and identity. That’s why the materials we introduce enhance customization potential and make each luminaire even more unique and functional.

  • Burel: made from 100% Portuguese wool, this material gives luminaires an acoustic function, ideal for spaces where noise needs to be softened, such as hotels, auditoriums, and offices.
  •

  • Cork: a Portuguese classic, now applied with modern design to our luminaires. Renewable, durable, and naturally textured, cork gives each piece an organic and distinctive character.
  •

  • Aluminum: renowned for its versatility and robustness, it adapts to any project identity. Our aluminum base takes on new forms through extruded profiles between 30 and 100 mm, bold curves, or minimalist lines, always with customized finishes.

A catalogue designed for professionals

The new catalogue goes beyond product presentation. It also includes technical and educational content, with clear explanations of key concepts such as luminous flux, color temperature, light distribution, and ingress protection ratings.

We also included a Visual Guide to make consultation simpler and more intuitive — from the luminaire model to the QR code linking to the website, including dimensions, technical drawings, and available customization options.

Projects that inspire us

This year, we also illuminated dozens of spaces with strong character — and some deserve special mention.

One of them is POC Aguieira, a challenging and distinctive project in which we developed luminaires fully integrated with the identity and functionality of the space. A clear demonstration of how the right light can transform environments and create new experiences.

Another highlight is our case study on the lighting renovation of an automotive showroom. An intervention where technical performance and design came together to give prominence to what truly matters: the products on display.
